Being a Multi Academy Trustee is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance to make a real difference to challenged young people, give something back to the community and use and develop your skills in a board-level environment.

As a special education needs and alternative education provider, ACE Schools Multi Academy Trust has developed a great reputation both locally and nationally for the work that it does.  The school’s performance, size, and diverse services mean that it is in a good position to help grow and develop education services both within the South West and nationally.

ACE Schools Multi Academy Trust has gone through a re-branding exercise and will be known as Transforming Futures Multi Academy Trust from 1st September 2020. This will mark a new way forward for the Trust, a new direction, informed by learning from the past but conducted with a very different determination and direction of travel as set in 2020-2024 Strategic Plan. Its mission will have at the centre Transforming Futures and Changing Lives, making a difference for its students, their parents and families, and their communities in the provision of trauma informed education to Special Educational Needs and Alternate Provision pupils.

The Trust is looking for a new Chair and two Trustees to join the Board at a time of transformational change:


  • The Chair will have significant leadership experience at executive and non-executive level, ensuring:
    • The Trusts governance structures are appropriate and operate effectively and efficiently;
    • Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for effective governance and excellent board performance.
  • The two Trustees will have leadership experience either in SEN/AP Education or Finance. Prior non-executive experience will be welcomed, but it is not essential.  Executive experience at Board level is essential.
